Robbers arrested in Badalgachhi, Naogaon

Two brothers have been arrested at the risk of their lives during a late night robbery at Badalgachhi in Naogaon district.

The incident took place in Adhaipur village across Badalgachhi upazila on Friday night.

According to police and villagers, five members of the robber gang entered the house by opening the window grille of Ramen Chandra Mandal's house in Adhaipur village across Badalgachhi upazila. Then they opened the main gate of the house and started robbing.

The robbers ransacked the house and furniture. They snatched seven gold ornaments along with one lakh 12 thousand rupees in cash. The robbers tore off the earlobe of the landlord's wife Kanon Bala and took off the gold ring. When the landlord's two sons, Pintu and Mintu Kumar, resisted, the robbers stabbed Pintu in the head. Mintu stabbed Mintu in the neck and severely beat the two brothers. However, at the risk of their lives, the two brothers bravely grabbed one of the robbers by the hand.

 After receiving the news, the police visited the spot at night and arrested the arrested robber Abdur Rahman Tazel (56) and admitted him to Badalgachhi Health Complex for treatment.

Two brothers Pintu and Mintu, who were beaten and stabbed by the robbers, were admitted to the hospital. Mintu Kumar and his mother were treated at the emergency department of the hospital.

Mintu Kumar told the police station on Saturday morning, April 2, that they had tried to arrest the two brothers and two robber members with injured bodies. He caught one of them.

Mintu also said that two or three more robberies had taken place in their house in the past.

The arrested robber is Abdur Rahman Tazel, son of late Amir Uddin of Dasra village in Khetlal upazila of Joypurhat district.

Badalgachhi police officer in charge (OC) said. Atiqul Islam said, a case has been filed in the police station. One has been arrested. Knives used in robbery have been recovered. Legal action will be taken against them.
