In Guimara, illegal harvesting of crops is going on

The festival of illegal crop cutting is going on in Guimara by violating the rules and regulations. There have been allegations of cutting crop land in different areas of Guimara upazila. He is cutting the hill with it. The festival is going on in Hafchhari, Jalliapara, Sindukchhari of Guimara, again in different places of Ramgarh and by cutting the crop land with the help of excavators. All these soils are being cut, they are in Brickfield, SBM, 4 Star, Medina Brickfield and a few more Brickfields.

Going to the field in different areas of Sindukchhari, it can be seen that they are cutting the crop land in different places and using it in the work of brick field by earthen truck and in some places filling the low lands. This is upsetting the balance of the environment and the government is losing a huge amount of revenue. In the coming monsoon season, the risk of life of people living near the hills is also increasing.

When contacted about the issue of crop land acquisition, Sindukchhari Chairman Redak Marma said that the lands are being made suitable for cultivation by filling up the lands in high and low places. He also said that some of the soil is being used for Brigfield.

When Shahid Company, the owner of SBM Brigfield, was contacted, he said that the brick making of Brickfield has made it possible to carry out development work in the area. Let me know if the construction of my house and building will be hampered when Brickfield is closed. He further added that the government has imposed a ban on brick kilns in such a way that it would cause huge losses to the brick kiln owners.

After receiving the news that the journalists were coming to cut the soil, the land grabbers blocked the road with excavators, but after going to the ground with great difficulty, it was seen that the soil was being cut indiscriminately from the crop land in different places including Chaingalipara of Guimara Upazila. The ground is being cut and removed in different places including Brickfield with various excuses.

Sachetanmahal said that due to all these illegal activities, the balance of the environment is being disturbed and the government is losing revenue. If all these illegal activities are not stopped, the vast areas including the beautiful hills of the hilly region will soon collapse and the common people will face disaster. So the locals demanded to stop all these illegal activities.
