An old man died in a fight over a trivial incident in Naogaon

An old man named Mabud Ali (65) died while undergoing treatment after being injured in a fight over transporting sand in a trolley for roofing work of a mosque on privately owned land in Mahadevpur of Naogaon district.
He died at the ICU of Popular Diagnostic Center in Rajshahi on Tuesday afternoon. He is a resident of Dighipara village of Mahinagar in Enayetpur union of the upazila.
When a case was filed in the police station in the afternoon, the police arrested 4 brothers at midnight. Five more people were injured in the incident. The condition of one of them is critical. The four arrested are Rezaul Karim Bhutto (58), Abu Helal (50), Belal Hossain (48) and Mamunur Rashid (42), son of late Afzal Master of Mahinagar village.
According to the victim's family and police sources, sand was being taken in a trolley on Monday afternoon for pouring the roof of the mosque in Dighipara village of Mahinagar.
At that time, four sons of Afzal Hossain forbade transporting sand on their land. After the Zohar prayers, two worshipers named Mabud Ali and Abdul Aziz came out of the mosque and protested. As a result, a quarrel broke out between them. At one point they got into a fight with a spade and a shovel.
6 people from both sides were injured. They were admitted to the Upazila Health Complex. When the condition of Mabud Ali and Abdul Aziz deteriorated there, they were shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. They were later taken to the Popular Diagnostic Center in Rajshahi for ICU. Mabud Ali died on Tuesday afternoon while undergoing treatment there. Abdul Aziz's condition is also critical as he has a blood clot on his head.
Mahadevpur Police Inspector (Investigation) Abul Kalam Azad said the victim's wife Rabeya Begum had filed a case with the police station on Tuesday afternoon.
