Niamatpur police have recovered the hanging body of a madrasa student named Sraboni Akhter Chandni (15) in Niamatpur of Naogaon district.
The incident took place at 9 am on Monday, March 21. She is the daughter of Habibur Rahman Sheikh of Hindu Para village in Konchpara of Upazila Sadar.
According to local sources, after taking a bath in the pond on Monday morning, he went to his grandfather's house behind his house. After a while, her younger sister came and reported that Sraboni had been strangled. Later, a team of Niamatpur police went to the spot and recovered the body.
Sraboni Akhter's mother Khadija Akhter said that the girl was naughty from a young age. After taking a bath in the pond in the morning, he told me to go to my grandfather's house, but he forbade me to do so. After a while the news came and leaked. I ran and saw my father-in-law hanging a rope with bamboo in his barn.
Sraboni Akhter's father Habibur Rahman said, "I went to the crop field for home work and started working." At that time I called from home and asked him to come home quickly and I ran back home. I came and saw that my daughter was strangled. "I don't talk to my daughter when she is given whatever she wants," he said. But I do not understand the reason for such an incident. The girl used to study in 8th class in Islamia Dakhil Madrasa in Niamatpur.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Niamatpur Police Station Humayun Kabir said a case of unnatural death (UD) has been registered in the incident. The body was sent to the morgue for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
