Genocide Day is celebrated in Guimaras

The day of genocide has been celebrated on March 25 in Guimara on the initiative of the upazila administration.

On this occasion, a discussion meeting was held on Friday (March 25) at 10 am in the conference room of Guimara Upazila Executive Officer under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Tushar Ahmed. College Principal Md. Nazim Uddin, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Alamgir Hossain, Guimara Police Station OC Investigation A. Khaleq, Upazila Agriculture Officer Onkar Biswas.

Asking for the forgiveness of the souls of all the martyrs of the March 25 genocide, the speakers said that on the night of March 25, 1971, unarmed Bengalis were massacred in the blueprint of Operation Searchlight, which was planned to deprive the Bengali nation of its freedom forever. The genocide of March 25, 1971 is one of the most horrific and brutal genocides in world history. This brutal genocide is carried out in the dark of night with sophisticated weapons. Such massacre of unarmed people is unprecedented in the world.

Among others, freedom fighters, politicians and heads of various educational institutions and government officials were present to discuss.
