BGB member commits suicide with gun in Naogaon

A BGB member named Tanvir (28) was killed at Sapahar border in Naogaon district. The BGB claimed that he had committed suicide with the gun he had.

The incident took place at Sundaril BOP camp on Thursday morning, March 3. Tanvir is the son of Sheikh Arjun of Narail district. He was working at Sundaril Border BOP in Sapahar upazila of Naogaon.

Citing BGB, Sapahar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tarequr Rahman said the BGB member named Tanvir fired at himself with a gun he had.

When his colleagues took him to the local Sapahar health complex around 8 in the morning with serious injuries, the doctor on duty, Dr. Abu Hanif declared Tanvir dead.

The OC further said that an unnatural death (UD) case has already been registered in this incident.

Lieutenant Colonel Asaduzzaman, commander of the 18th BGB Battalion, said the matter was an internal matter.
