Sheikh Hasina thinks about the welfare of the people - Food Minister in Naogaon

Food Minister Vir Muktijoddha Sadhan Chandra Majumder MP said that family silo would play a role in food conservation as well as farmer's rice seed conservation. He said family silos would be distributed in every upazila of the country. The food minister said that 160 million people have to be provided food. We eat rice after production. We need to increase production more. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving incentives for irrigation and fertilizer in the land so that not even an inch of land is left out of cultivation.

At the same time, Sheikh Hasina was concerned about the welfare of the people, the minister said.

On the occasion of birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Saraigachhi Food Warehouse (LSD) premises of Naogaon Porsha Upazila organized by Upazila Administration on Saturday 19th February. He was speaking as the chief guest at the distribution of household silos and distribution of irrigation licenses among the beneficiaries under the project.

The minister added that the leaders of one party had lied about the corona vaccine. Mentioning that many of them have been vaccinated in secret, he said that mass vaccination will be given in every ward on February 26 under the cross program. Three and a half lakh vaccines will be given in Naogaon district.

At that time, he urged everyone to go to the designated vaccination center and get vaccinated. He further said that the farmers are getting fair price of paddy and the foundation of the farmers is getting stronger. There was no food crisis in the country during the Corona period. He added that no one died without eating.

 Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nazmul Hamid Raza, Regional Food Controller Rajshahi GM Faruk Hossain Patwari and Upazila Parishad Chairman Principal Shah Manzur Morshed Chowdhury spoke on the occasion.

Vice Chairman Kazibul Islam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Zakir Hossain and Food Controller Ratan Kumar Pramanik were present on the occasion.

It may be mentioned that a total of 3 lakh family silos will be distributed in 55 upazilas of 23 districts in 8 divisions of the country under this project on the occasion of birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. A total of 26,000 silos will be distributed in Naogaon district, out of which 6,000 family silos are being distributed in Porsha upazila under this program. During the disaster, 40 kg of paddy or 56 kg of rice or 60 liters of water can be stored in each family saila, said the concerned.

Later, Chief Guest Food Minister Bir Muktijoddha Sadhan Chandra Majumder MP addressed the reception given to the newly elected chairmen of six unions organized by Upazila Awami League at Saraigachhi corner as the chief guest. General Secretary Mofazzal Hossain presided over the function under the chairmanship of Upazila Awami League President Anwarul Islam.
