A rare species of snake called 'Red Coral Cookery' has been caught in Thakurgaon district. The snake was rescued alive from Bhulli Bara Balia in Sadar upazila of Thakurgaon district on Thursday night (February 10).

Sahidul Islam, a wildlife conservationist and rescuer in Sadar upazila of Thakurgaon district, said, "The locals caught the snake and informed me. The snake will be rescued from there on Friday, ”said Abu Taher Mohammad Samsuzzaman, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Thakurgaon district. A message has been sent to the Department of Wildlife and Animals to save the rare species of snake.

It is known that this snake has been seen 20-22 times in the whole world. This snake has been seen five times in the last 12 months in the country. Seen five times in the northern district of Panchagarh. The snake was rescued from the same area on February 8 for the first time in Panchagarh and Bangladesh. He was later found dead for the second time from Chaklahat area of ​​Sadar upazila on 26 February, alive for the third time from Tunirhat area on 20 April and dead for the fourth time from the same area on 10 May.

The Red Coral Cookery is a rare species of snake. Bright orange and coral red, the scientific name of this species is Oligodon Kheriennsis. The snake was first seen in 1938 in the northern part of the Kheri division of Uttar Pradesh. This bright orange and red coral color snake is very charming. The snake is mildly venomous and extremely harmless. This snake is one of the rare snakes in the world. It is found 55 km south of the foothills of the Himalayas and 60 km east-west. The snake is nocturnal and stays under the ground most of the time.
