Election of Maheshkhali Upazila Press Club has been completed in a festive atmosphere

The bi-annual election of the much talked about Maheshkhali Upazila Press Club of Cox's Bazar district has been completed in a festive atmosphere. JHM Yunus, President of Jatiya Patrika Daily Sakalbelar and A.N.M. Hasan has been elected general secretary.

Voting ends Monday (January 31) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A total of 11 candidates contested for 5 posts. Of these, 2 are in the post of president, 2 in the post of general secretary, 2 in the post of organizational secretary, 2 in the post of treasurer and 3 in the post of office and publicity secretary. Out of the total 29 voters, 29 exercised their voting right.

JHM Yunus was elected president with 19 votes. A.N.M. Hasan got 25 votes and was elected general secretary.

Md. Erfan Hossain, District Correspondent of Dainik Shiromani Patrika was elected with 19 votes, Khairul Amin was elected as Treasurer with 19 votes and Mizbah Uddin Iran was elected as Publicity and Office Editor with 13 votes.

The chief election commissioner in the election was the headmaster of Bara Maheshkhali Girls High School Ed. Humayun Kabir Azad, Sabuj Kumar Dey and Dulal Bhattacharya were the members.
