Sheikh Russell's 57th birthday was celebrated in Guimara with various arrangements

Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has celebrated his 57th birthday and Shekhar Russell Day at the initiative of Guimara Upazila Administration and Upazila Awami League and allied organizations of Khagrachhari district.
Guimara Upazila Administration, Upazila Muktijoddha Command, Upazila Awami League, School College and Madrasa and 22 Ansar Battalion laid a wreath at the picture of Sheikh Russell in front of the Upazila Parishad at 8 am on Monday 18 October.
And at 8 am, national and party flags were hoisted at the party office of the Upazila Awami League, wreaths were laid at the portrait of Bangabandhu, milad and prayer mahfil and cake cutting and discussion meeting were held. Awami League leaders took part in the discussion.
Leaders and activists of Guimara Upazila Awami League and allied organizations were present at the time.
Besides, she took part in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's virtual program at Ganabhaban in the conference room of Upazila Nirbahi Officer at 10 am.
Later, Guimara Upazila Chairman Ushyepru Marma was present as the chief guest at the seminar and award distribution function presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tushar Ahmed in collaboration with the Information and Technology Department and organized by the Upazila administration.
Former Guimara Upazila Freedom Fighter Commander Mrasathowai Mugh, Guimara Government College Principal Md. Nazim Uddin, Upazila Mahila Vice Chairman Jharna Tripura and others spoke at the discussion.
Speaking on the occasion of Shishu Russell's birthday, the speakers said that Bangabandhu was bleeding his heart when he came to celebrate the birthday of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of the father of the nation, because he did not allow a single flower to bloom. They said that even though Sheikh Russell was snatched away by the bullet, he could not be wiped out. The pages of history and the hearts of the people will live forever. Officials and employees of various government and non-government departments were present at the time.
