Attempts to snatch ballots in Teknaf, voting postponed in two centers

 Attempts to snatch ballots have taken place at Unchiprang and Lambabil polling stations in Teknaf. The agitated crowd blocked the election officials in this incident. There were also roadblocks and vandalism.

Voters protested for about two hours.

Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Abu Sufian, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Parvez Chowdhury, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Erfanul Haque Chowdhury reached Unchiprang polling station at around 1pm. They listen to the complaints of rival candidates and agents. Voting at the two polling stations will be suspended immediately, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer said.

Teknaf Upazila Election and Returning Officer Bedarul Islam said polling at two centers in Teknaf had been postponed due to attempted ballot snatching.
