A large quantity of Chinese duari nets was seized by the upazila administration at the initiative of the upazila administration in Banga, Faridpur, and was later set on fire and destroyed.

On Thursday (August 24) morning, thi operation was conducted to arrest the banned china duari fake in Chanderkandi Bill of Chumurdi Union of Upazila.

In this, 150 meters of illegal China double nets were seized, 4000 meters of current nets and later they were set on fire and destroyed in the open.

Upazila Executive Officer Md. Bhanga led the seizure of the banned Chinese double nets/current nets to protect native species of fish and balance biodiversity. Azim Uddin, Bhanga Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Masudur Rahman, Bhanga upazila fisheries officer Debla Chakraborty and upazila agriculture officer agriculturist Jivashu Das.

In addition, the field support staff of the fisheries office. Badal Khan, Ishtiaq Ahmed Antar, Office Assistant of UNO Office. Imran, journalists and local conscious people were present.

Debela Chakraborty, Upazila Fisheries Officer, Bhanga, said that on the basis of secret information, Upazila Executive Officer, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land), Agriculture Officer, and I along with us, on behalf of the Upazila Commission, are conducting an operation to seize prohibited nets in and around Chanderkandi Bill of Chumurdi UP. In doing so, we were able to seize many illegal China duari fakes. Later these nets were destroyed by setting fire in the open.

The Upazila Fisheries Officer also said that an operation has been conducted to stop the use of illegal current nets and Chinese double nets in order to protect local species of fish, i.e. in public interest and this operation will continue in the future.

In this regard, broken upazila officer Md. Azim Uddin said, this campaign is ongoing and will continue. (China Duari) Our campaign will not stop until there is a net. Soon I will declare Bhanga Upazila as China Duari free net. And I will operate mobile courts from today in the shops where China Duari (illegal) fakes are present in the markets and those involved in it will also be brought under the law.
