Office assistant arrested in case of rape of fifth class student in Naogaon

Two months after filing a case in the case of rape of a fifth class madrasa student in Mahadevpur of Naogaon district, the police arrested the sole accused in the case, Jaipur Dangapara Dakhil Madrasa office assistant Momenul Haque alias Momo.

The arrested accused Momenul Haque Momo has been sent to jail through the court on Wednesday.

According to police sources, SI Shahjahan Hossain of Mahadevpur police station, with the help of RAB, raided a house in Faridpur city and arrested him on Tuesday night.

In this regard, the mother of the girl who was the victim of rape became the plaintiff and filed a case under the Women and Child Torture Suppression Act of 2000 with Momenul Haque alias Momo, the office assistant of Jaipur Dangapara Dakhil Madrasa and son of Abdul Khalek of Jaipur Dangapara village, as the sole defendant on August 11.

Since then accused Momenul Haque was absconding. According to the source of the case, Mamenul Haque Momo (50), the office assistant of Jaipur Dangapara Dakhil Madrasa and son of Abdul Khalek of Jaipur Dangapara village used to molest the student at various times.

On August 2, around 11:30 am, he found the girl standing alone in the balcony of the madrasa, touched her in various sensitive areas and propositioned her. The student got angry and left the book at the madrasa and returned home.

On the same day, office assistant Momenul Haque came to the girl's house in Jaipur Pirpukur village of Khajur Union of the upazila on the pretext of inquiring about the girl.

At that time, no one was at home and entered the student's bedroom and forcibly raped her. While running away after the rape, Momenul Haque threatened the girl in various ways.

After the case was filed on August 11, an hour-long human chain was organized by Jaipur Dangapara (Kala Bagan intersection) local youth society demanding the arrest and execution of the rapist on Thursday afternoon, August 18.

There, the speakers demanded the arrest of the rapist Momenul Haque and death penalty as the only punishment for rape.

In this regard, Mahadevpur police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mozaffar Hossain said that after the arrest, the accused was sent to Naogaon Jail by the court on Wednesday afternoon.
