A mother and daughter died after being cut by a train at Raninagar in Naogaon

A mother and daughter were killed when a train derailed near Raninagar railway station in Naogaon district.

The accident took place at around 12 noon on Thursday, February 18 on the Dhaka-bound Kurigram Express train near Raninagar railway station.

The deceased were identified as Mainum Bibi, 23, wife of Naeem Hossain of Prannathpur village under Adamdighi upazila of Bogra district and her daughter Nurjahan, 5.

 Confirming the incident, Raninagar Station Master Ataul Haque Khan said the mother and daughter died when the Dhaka-bound Kurigram Express train derailed at 11:50 am on Thursday.

Witnesses and locals said that due to a family quarrel, mother Mainum Begum jumped under the train with her daughter Nurjahan and died on the spot.
