Md. Nawab Bhuiyan

  (Narayanganj) Representative:

In Rupganj, Narayanganj, a fraudster has written off 35 per cent of the land worth around Tk 60 lakh to a family for buying 3.5 per cent land. After asking them about the incident, the gang is threatening to kill them. The family has become destitute after losing everything. The incident took place in Khas Kamalkathi area of Daudpur union of the upazila.

The victim Manu Mia said he was the son of late Tashuruddin of Khas Kamalkathi area of Daudpur union. Due to family problems, they decided to sell 52 per cent to 3.5 per cent of the land in their Kamalkathi mouzar RS-57 and 589 led by 4 brothers and one sister. Later on May 23, Qadir, son of Khidur Box and Golzar Hossain, son of Khaleq, took their siblings to the Rupganj sub-registry office to buy the land at a price of Tk 6.5 lakh. Later, after realizing the price, they registered 3 and a half percent land in the name of Nazrul Islam, son of Mia Box of Khas Kamalkathi area. Document No. 548/21 of which Ammoktar came down. Meanwhile, on September 5 this month, Nazrul came with the people to occupy 35 percent of the deeded land. They were shocked. After that, the fraudster Nazrul found out that instead of 3 and a half percent of the land, he had written 35 percent of the land with the help of the document writer Zakir. After picking up the documents, on September 10, Manu, the owner of the land, went to ask his brother Zaidul, Kamal, Jamal and sister Hasina, the fraudster Nazrul, his associates Qadir and Golzar about the matter. He threatened to kill them and make them disappear otherwise. Manu Mia has lodged a complaint with the Rupganj Police Station against the fraudsters.

When contacted, Nazrul said, "I have bought 35 per cent of the land from them." But now they say 3 and a half percent. I first registered the land with an open deposit. However, Nazrul refused to say how much he bought the land with.

Shafiul Bari, sub-registrar of the Rupganj sub-registry office, said, "If the victim complains to me about such fraud, I will try to solve it by bringing the land grabber through the relevant document writer." If he does not resolve, legal action will be recommended against him, including an application for revocation of the deed.

Rupganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AFM Sayed said, "I have received a written complaint about fraudulent land acquisition and death threats." Police are trying to arrest Nazrul and his accomplices. They will be brought under the law very soon.
