Detained in Naogaon Manda along with the accused who was convicted and arrested with arrest warrant.

Police have arrested eight people, including a convict and two others with arrest warrants, in Manda of Naogaon district. They were arrested on Saturday (September 18) night after conducting raids in different areas of the upazila.

The arrested are Prashant Kumar Mahanta (35), Khalilur Rahman (65), Md. Mintu (25), Moazzem Hossain (33), Altaf Hossain (35), Sohrab Hossain (28), Mottalib Hossain (21) and Md. Calm (19).

According to the police, Prashant Kumar Mahanta was a fugitive accused who was sentenced to two years and three months. The arrest warrants were against Khalilur Rahman and Mintu. Besides, Moazzem Hossain is an active member of Antzela Chor Chakra.

Manda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahinur Rahman said the arrested persons were sent to Naogaon Jail on Sunday afternoon, September 19.
