Issuance of memorandum of Ulama Oikya Parishad in protest of Imam Lanchit in Ramgarh

The District Qawmi Madrasa and Ulama Oikya Parishad have issued a memorandum to the Khatib and Imam of the mosque at the Ramgarh Hill Agriculture Research Center in Khagrachhari Hill District in protest of the humiliation and mockery of the beard.

The memorandum was handed over to the Director General of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Chief Scientific Officer, Deputy Commissioner through Ramgarh Upazila Nirbahi Officer (Acting) Assistant Commissioner (Land) Umme Habiba Majumder on Sunday 5 September at 12 noon.

 Vice Chairman of Ramgarh Upazila Anwar Farooq, Joint Secretary of Khagrachhari Qawmi Madrasa and Ulama Oikya Parishad Maulana Shahid Ullah, Member Maulana Saiful Islam, Maulana Delwar Hussain, Maulana Imamuddin Azizi, Maulana Ershad Sharaf Ulhaz, Ram were present on the occasion. , Joint Secretary, Hafez Yusuf, Publicity Secretary, Maulana Abdul Hannan Mansur, Hafez Junaid bin Saeed and others.

SM Faisal, the chief scientific officer of the complaint center, insulted the center's chief khatib, Maulana Emdadur Rahman, and taunted him with his beard.

The victim, Maulana Emdadur Rahman, said that Md. Mujibur Rahman, a worker at the center, died of a stroke last Thursday (September 2). He is known socially as he has been working at the center for a long time. So the news of his death for humanitarian reasons was spread to the mike of the mosque.

Enraged, the centre's chief scientific officer SM Faisal raised his hand to the village and taunted him with his beard. Blasphemed in more vulgar language.

Khagrachhari Qawmi Madrasa and Ulama Oikya Parishad have issued a memorandum to the higher authorities in this regard. In the memorandum, they strongly condemned the incident and demanded punishment and removal of the chief scientific officer after investigation.

Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute Director General Dr. Nazirul Islam said he had received a complaint in this regard. He also said that action would be taken if found guilty by forming an investigation committee.
