Death of journalist Minhaj's father: Funeral and burial completed

All European Bangla Press Club Organizing Secretary Channel S Rome Correspondent Journalist Minhaj Hossain and prominent businessman Afzal Hossain's father Abdun Noor (Kutul) died at his residence at 10:45 pm on July 12 . (Innalillahi wa inna ilaihir rajeun). He was 80 years old at the time of his death. Funeral prayers of the deceased were held on 13 July after Johar Kasba at the premises of Central Bara Jame Mosque. Funeral prayers were conducted by the Honorable Chairman of Sylhet Mufti Board, Mufti Abdul Karim Haqqani.
Newly elected mayor of Beanibazar municipality Farukul Haque Faruk, former mayor Abdus Shukur, Bir Muktijoddha Atiq member, president of Kasba Girls High School Saleh Ahmed Babul and local worshipers and leaders of various social, cultural, political and media organizations of the community participated in the janaza.
Before the janaza prayers, Beanibazar Municipal Mayor Farukul Haque Faruk, President of Kasba Girls High School Saleh Ahmed Babul and others addressed the gathering seeking peace of mind of the deceased. At that time, the eldest son of the late Afzal Hossain prayed for his father to all the devotees. He was buried in the graveyard of his own house after the funeral prayers.
At the time of his death, he left behind three sons and two daughters. Minhaj Hossain, a journalist based in Rome, Italy, is living in Kuwait with his youngest son and two other sons living in Bangladesh.
His sudden death has cast a shadow of mourning over the Bengali community in Beanibazar, Sylhet and the Bengali community in Italy and Kuwait. And next Friday, after Jummah, a kulkhani has been organized at the Central Jame Mosque in Kasba to seek the forgiveness of his soul.
